So the winter blues got you down and feeling gloomy? Well, get rid of those blues and perk yourself up by bringing your own sunshine in. Here are some ways you can get your skin to have a beautiful glow like you just graced the beaches of Tahiti ; )
STAY HYDRATED!
Yes, here we go again with the water spiel, but I have to admit, from someone like me that will not say that water is one of my favorite things to consume, it is imperative that we drink it daily to keep your skin plump and rejuvenated. If you are dehydrated, it will show in our skin almost immediately.
MOISTURIZE AND MOISTURIZE AGAIN
It is always important to moisturize your skin from top to bottom, but even moreso in the winter when the air tends to be drier and less humid. I recommend moisturizing as soon as you have showered. Even better, bring your moisturizer of choice into the shower and as soon as you have rinsed, remove excess water with a damp cloth (so your body is still damp and not dry), and add your moisturizer to your damp skin and face. It is not recommended to use the same type of moisturizer on your face as you do on your body, so have both readily available. If you have oily or combination skin, you would want to use a water-based moisturizer for your face. If your face is dry then use an oil-based moisturizer. If you can, do this both morning and evening.
STICK WITH DEWY FOUNDATIONS
Use a liquid foundation if you can, or a tinted moisturizer instead of the powder foundations. If you are a powder foundation fan, I would recommend you mixing a bit of your powder foundation with your moisturizer and make your own tinted moisturizer to apply to your face.
MAKEUP YOUR BODY
Spray tans are a great way of adding a little color to your skin the safe way. Stay away from tanning beds, which are horrible for your skin and accelerates the aging factor. Spray tans are just makeup for the body, so why would you makeup your face and forget about the rest? Don’t go too dark, but just enough to give you bronzed glow you will be pleased with.
Be Beautiful, Be Bold, Be You!
