Although we specialize in eyelash extensions in Summerville and Charleston, SC, the health of our clients’ natural lashes is of utmost importance. Whether we are performing eyelash extensions, semi-permanent mascara, eyelash lifts, or temporary eyelash enhancements, we take the care of our clients’ lashes into consideration at all times, and would not perform an eyelash service that is not in the best interest of our clients.

Just as you would care for the hairs on your head by shampooing and conditioning, we recommend the same for your natural lashes as well. Lashes should always, whether wearing extensions or not, be cleansed everyday. When wearing extensions, we recommend an oil free eye makeup remover/facial cleanser to cleanse around the lash line, as embedded debris can and does accumulate from makeup, sleep patterns, contact lens solutions, etc. Lint free brushes would be used with the cleanser to clean the areas and also the same brushes would be used to rinse the cleanser away.

If you do not wear lash extensions, please be sure to cleanse these areas even more thoroughly because if you are not wearing extensions, that means you are probably using mascara everyday. It is important to cleanse even more because mascara tends to build over time so I recommend a triple cleanse to be sure the product is completely removed.

An Eyelash serum is also a consideration to contribute to the natural lashes growth and vitality. Eyelash serums condition the lashes at the follicle level to stimulate the growth and strength of the natural lashes over time. We recommend this to all clients whether wearing extensions or not. At Carolina Eye Candy, we offer Grande Lash, which has seen great results! You condition your hair, right? So the same is important for your natural lashes as well. So when you think shampoo and conditioning is just for your hair, it is important to consider your lashes as well. (Just not using the same products for both, LOL!)
