Let’s admit it. We all want long, luxurious lashes. They frame our eyes and make them look bigger, and oh so pretty. But the sad truth is that not everyone is born with long, luxurious lashes. Most of us get stuck with short, stubby ones. Did you know that there’s a way to grow longer and thicker lashes using natural ingredients? You heard me right. Using these ingredients found in your house, you too can have long, thick lashes that you previously only ever dreamed of.

Olive Oil. I’m sure by now you’ve already heard a lot of good things about olive oil. It’s good for the skin, good for the heart, and it lowers the body’s bad cholesterol levels if you use it for cooking. Well now you can add one more thing to the list. It turns out that olive oil is also good for the lashes! It conditions and protects the lashes. It lengthens it, too! Just dab a small amount of olive oil on your lashes before sleeping, and wash it off when you wake up.

Lemon. It’s antiseptic and antimicrobial properties are good for the lashes. But don’t wipe lemon juice on your lashes. Lemon essential oil is good, but if you do not have that on hand, worry not. Just slice some lemon peels thinly and soak them in olive oil for several days and voila! You have your own homemade lash serum.

Castor Oil. No olive oil? No problem! Castor oil works just as well as olive oil. It contains fatty acids, and regular application will make your lashes grow longer and stronger. You can also soak your lemon peels in castor oil to make an eyelash serum.

Shea Butter. If you have shea butter lying around the house (it’s good for the skin and hair, so you should start thinking about buying it. Lots of it) it is also good for the lashes. Just get a small amount of butter, rub it on your fingertips until it slightly melts, then rub it on your lashes. Leave it overnight. You can wash it off in the morning when you wake up.

Green Tea. Tea is packed with antioxidants and is good for the body. They say you should drink at least one cup of tea daily. Well here’s another good thing that green tea can do for you – green tea, when applied regularly to your lashes promote growth. Just soak the green tea leaves in hot water for a few minutes, then let it cool. Before sleeping, apply a small amount on your lashes. It makes your lashes grow thicker and longer.
