Summer vacation travel – it happens every year. Summer is fastly approaching, and it assuredly will involve some travel for most of us. So check out these tips for some issues we tend to deal with when we travel.

Dry Skin

When we travel, we often are flying, and the air that flows through the cabin can be very drying, not to mention the rays of the sun are a lot more influential on the skin due to being so much closer to it. Moisturize your skin more in the evening before, and the morning of. Products with hyaluronic acid is great, which holds 1000 times its weight in water will help to keep your skin hydrated. Using a spritz of hydration regularly will assist as well, something with rosewater which has a very clean scent to it and should not affect your skin in any way. Of course, drinking water will assist in your dry skin, so you may want to increase your intake of those fluids as well, although it will include more pit stops, if you know what I mean.

Protecting Your Makeup

I’m big on carry-on luggage when I travel, so I try to make sure I don’t have to check any bags when I travel if I can help it. Even if you carry on your luggage, try not to carry any items that are in glass containers to prevent them breaking when you travel. Carry as few items as possible, and if you like different colors, try using a lip palette in a plastic casing instead of several tubes of lipstick, which can be a bit too much. Pack your items in a cushioned bag.

Prevent and Treat Breakouts

Breakouts tend to happen when we travel due to the changes in the air and environment. I know I usually get a breakout or two (or a few). So to combat and treat these annoyances, you must be sure to clean your skin thoroughly to remove any buildup and debris from your skin (neck and decollette included). Use moisturizers with niacinimide, which is an antioxidant which helps to combat issues in breakout prone skin. Using products at night with retinol will also help to increase cell turnover activity, which will help your breakout skin to exfoliate more rapidly. Using sheet masks with properties for skin that breaks out, which are for one time use only, will also help to deliver ingredients necessary for clearer skin as well.

I hope you found these beauty tips for travel helpful and worthy of trying out. Let me know your thoughts!
